Meet Our Owner and President, Emiliano Pescador
Emiliano Pescador is the Founder and President of Nextia Energy since March 2015. Mr.Pescador is also CEO of Blue Marine and a member of the board of directors of Grupo Industrial Durandco. Mr. Pescador was the country manager for Technip Mexico between December 2011 and February 2015. He was responsible for all business segments in the country: offshore, subsea, and onshore.
In June 2012, Mr. Pescador was named coordinator of the Mexican Construction Chamber (CMIC) for the CMIC-PEMEX ERP Committee. Since then, he has supported and strengthened the relationship between PEMEX and CMIC members (More than ten thousand Companies). Mr. Pescador was named one of the Top 100 most influential people in the energy sector in Mexico by the "Petroleo y Energía" Magazine in their 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 editions. In May 2002, he joined Global Industries, Ltd. During 10 years, Mr. Pescador performed several roles in Global Industries, starting as project manager and being promoted to director of projects in a short period of time. In 2005, he was named commercial director for Mexico & Latin America BU, and in two years, he secured projects worth US$500 million, positioning Mexico's division as the most profitable BU of the Company.
In 2007, Mr. Pescador was appointed country manager for Brazil and South America BU, where he established an office and developed a highly professional management team for the region. From 1996 to 2002, he worked at ICA Fluor (JV between ICA & Fluor), where, as a project engineer and project manager, he managed offshore and onshore projects and bids of the oil & gas industry.
Mr. Pescador is an Industrial Engineering graduate from the ITESM and holds an MBA from Thunderbird University and ITESM and is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Meet Our COO, Richard R. Riopel
Richard R. Riopel brings over 25 years of diverse experience in Civil Engineering, Energy, and Oil and Gas industries, spanning from onshore to offshore and subsea operations. Leveraging his extensive experience, Richard drives business growth at Nextia Energy by crafting commercial and operational strategies, developing new revenue models, and ensuring seamless commercial integration. With a keen focus on closing technical, operational, and commercial gaps, Richard excels in fostering cross-functional and discipline matrix development.
Beyond his role at Nextia Energy, Richard provides Executive Fractional Services, including serving as the Managing Director of International Operations at Blue Marine. His career journey has seen him collaborate with a spectrum of companies, ranging from startup, specialized engineering and manufacturing groups to international corporations and EPCI contractors like Fugro, Skanska, Technip, Emas Chiyoda, and Baker Hughes.
Throughout his career, Richard has held diverse leadership positions, ranging from engineering and project management to executive global sales and commercial director roles. A graduate in Geological Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, Richard's professional journey has taken him across the globe, living in Canada, the USA, Brazil, England, Dubai, and Nigeria. He has spearheaded projects worldwide, including in locations such as Mexico, Colombia, Trinidad, Russia, Iran, Oman, Qatar, and West Africa, leveraging his fluency in French, English, Portuguese, and Spanish to navigate international and cultural landscapes.
